Introduction to Input in Unity

Unity Scripting API - Input Essentials

- In Unity we have variety of static properties & methods as part of the Input class; which allow us to accept keyboard inputs, mouse inputs, joystick inputs, mobile inputs (i.e. Touch inputs, Accelerometer Inputs) as well as cross platform inputs.

Ex:
Input.GetKeyXXX() methods;
- allow us to accept keyboard inputs

Input.GetMouseButtonXXX() methods;
- allow us to accept mouse inputs

Input.GetTouch() method;
- allows us to accept touch inputs

Input.GetButtonXXX() & Input.GetAxisXXX() methods;
- allow us to accept cross platform inputs
