How to use Free Transform Tool in Adobe Flash

16: Free Transform Tool: (Q) in Adobe Flash
- is used to translate, rotate, scale, skew, distort and deform the selected object

- To translate just click and drag the selected object
- To rotate go to any one of the corners, once you see the rotate icon click and drag
- To scale horizontally or vertically click and drag the side handles
- To scale proportionally click and drag the corner handles
- To scale from center out hold down the alt key and scale
- To skew click and drag any one of the edges

Circle in the Free Transform Tool:
- indicates a pivot point or reference point for the transformation of the selected object
- Relative to the pivot point or the reference point the selected object is transformed

Free Transform Tool Settings:
Rotate & Skew:
- Click and drag any one of the corner handles to rotate
- Click and drag any one of the side handles to skew
Scale:
- Click and drag any one of the handles to scale
- Use Alt key to scale from center out
Distort:
- Click and drag any one of the corner handles to distort
- Use Shift key to distort using pair of corresponding handles
Envelope:
- Click and drag any of the handles or Bezier curve handles to modify the shape

Note:
Sometimes to transform a selected object; we go to Modify Menu – Transform Command
