20. Text Tool: (T) in Adobe Flash – Part 1
- allows us to type text onto the selected layer
- Click and start typing to create an expanding text box
- Click and drag to create a fixed width text box and start typing
Text Engine: is responsible for rendering text
- Classic Text: Simple and supported everywhere
- TLF Text: TLF stands for Text Layout Framework; Supports rich text layout features. It is advanced and gives greater control over the text rendering but it increases file size of the final output.
Note: In Animate CC TLF Text engine is deprecated i.e. not supported
Text Type:
1. Classic Text Engine
Static Text Used to display static content, which never changes
Dynamic Text Used to display dynamic content, which changes over time
Input Text Used to get user inputs
2. TLF Text Engine
Read only Used to display static content, which never changes
Selectable Used to display dynamic content, which changes over time
Editable Used to get user inputs
Text Orientation:
- Horizontal: allows us to display content horizontally
- Vertical: allows us to display content vertically
