23. Pen Tool: (P)
- is used to create straight lines and curved lines
- is used to create simple to complex artworks
- is used to trace already created artworks etc.
Using Pen Tool:
- Select the Pen Tool (P)
- Click to add an anchor point without handles; which allows us to draw a straight line
- Click and drag to an add anchor point with handles; which allows us to draw a curved line
- To remove the right handle, click on the anchor point with handles
- To start the new drawing without closing the path; select some other tool on the tool bar
or just double click
- To continue the Previousdrawing, select the path using sub selection tool, then select the pen tool click on the last anchor point of the path
24. Sub selection Tool (A)
- allows us to activate and directly select an anchor point
Note: Selection tool is used to select the shape, where as Sub selection tool is used to activate and directly select an anchor point
25. Add Anchor Point Tool (= / +)
- allows us to add an additional anchor point
Using Add Anchor Point Tool:
- Select Add Anchor Point Tool (= / +)
- Move the mouse cursor on the path
- click to add an anchor point
26. Delete Anchor Point Tool (-)
- allows us to delete an anchor point
Using Delete Anchor Point Tool:
- Select Delete Anchor Point Tool (-)
- Move the mouse cursor on an anchor point to be deleted
- click to delete it
27. Convert Anchor Point Tool (C)
- allows us to convert an anchor point without handles to an anchor point with handles
- allows us to convert an anchor point with handles to an anchor point without handles
- allows us to break the link between left and right handles
Using Convert Anchor Point Tool:
- Select Convert Anchor Point Tool (C)
- Move the mouse cursor on the anchor point
- click and drag to convert anchor point without handles to an anchor point with handles
- click to convert anchor point with handles to an anchor point without handles
- click and drag the handle to break the link between left and right handles
Note: On Pen Tool being selected; Hold down the Alt key to temporarily activate the Convert anchor point tool
